Our HOME-F residential door system offers a simple way to keep the power unit out of sight when windows are installed above the garage door opening.
Did you know?
Many garages feature fixed windows above the door opening for natural daylight. In standard installations, the garage door power unit is positioned directly behind these windows and is visible from the outside.
There is a simple HOME-F solution to prevent this.
By using a longer vertical angle, a 350 mm lintel height can be created, allowing the power unit to be positioned above the window line for a clear exterior view. In addition, special top roller carriers must be used (230104 & 230101).
With this configuration, the tracks and panels are positioned outside the daylight opening, resulting in no reduction of drive-through height.
How the solution is implemented
This configuration uses the standard HOME-F rail sets and does not require any changes to spring calculation. The standard HOME-F spring calculator can be used to determine the correct spring values.
When using frame installation, two additional holes must be drilled in each vertical angle to support the lintel profile, as shown in the installation instructions.
Door height considerations
When using this solution, the selected vertical track set will no longer correspond directly to the final door height. The table below shows the resulting door heights when applying a 350 mm lintel configuration:
